Everything old is new again when The 100 returns to The CW with its sixth season on Tuesday.But that s one of star Lindsey Morgan s favorite aspects of the sci-fi series, she said when Rotten Tomatoes visited the set of the series back in November. We really concentrate on world building and building these new environments and then we blow them up, she said.Indeed, after crash-landing the titular group of 100 teens on a post-apocalyptic Earth in its first season, the show has specialized in upending its status quo each year. Its core team of teen miscreants-turned-explorers faced new difficult situations each season as they attempted to make life thrive on a radiation-soaked Earth. Season 5 sped forward six years as some retreated to a space station above Earth and others defended the last safe zone on the planet. But when that attempt failed, the survivors had only one choice left: find a new planet.Which, of course, they did. A planet a previous Earth ship set out for and, presumably, will support human life.(Photo by Sergei Bachlakov/The CW)Details on this brave new world are still deeply classified, but Bob Morley, who plays key survivor Bellamy, suggested fans can gather something about the new planet based on what happened at the end of last season. And while there is a sense that the show has been reborn, he noted the characters may also experience a sense of déjà vu as they explore the new world. This planet is completely different from the Earth we knew, said Marie Avgeropoulos, who plays Bellamy s sister, Octavia. There are a lot of sci-fi elements to this planet. It makes it really challenging to survive. Instead of various rival clans as seen on Earth, she said the survivors will encounter one set of new people immersed in the new sci-fi trappings. The planet’s gonna be nuts, said Richard Harmon, who plays ne er-do-well Murphy. It will suspiciously look like Vancouver, but they did a great job giving the planet a cool look this season. The new status quo sees the survivors reunited on the same side after years of personal and political conflicts. As Morley noted, Bellamy and Clarke (Eliza Taylor) will have to deal with being leaders of the same group once again despite all the time they were on opposite sides of warring factions. They have to take up that mantra from Monty: Do better,' he said.In the season 5 finale, Monty (Christopher Larkin) stayed awake aboard the Eligius IV while the others went into cryosleep hoping to wait out the decade required for Shadow Valley to become habitable again. Unfortunately, when that decade passed, Monty and fellow survivor Harper (Chelsey Reist) saw little change to the radiation levels around the planet and he began decoding the mission files of the Eligius III, a ship sent out to find a hospitable and oil-rich planet out in the galaxy. The two lived long lives together, even having a son. After Harper s death, Monty chose to remain awake until he could find the route the Eligius III took, eventually dying of old age and hoping his friends would be better people when they settled the world he found for them.(Photo by Diyah Pera/The CW) Everyone takes Monty’s dying wish differently, Morgan explained. It has a resounding impact on us all. He was very much the core of the family and for him to sacrifice his life was such a gift. In the case of Morgan s Raven, it leads her to take a more active role in their coming exploration of the new world. A crisis is on hand in this new set of circumstances, she said. Being the brains of the operation and figuring out the intel, she has to figure out how to assess the planet and how to survive. Presumably, this means she will be one of the first to wake up from cyrosleep, but the cast was oddly mum about who wakes up first. Instead, Morgan joked, there’s been peace because we’ve all been asleep. While Harmon noted that the group is as cohesive as a unit as we ve ever been at the start of the season, old wounds will quickly open up as the various characters awaken. For Raven and Murphy, that means injuries sustained across the fifth season have not healed after 125 years. In fact, Harmon said Murphy’s injury allows him to relate to Raven a little better — at least when he first wakes up. But for Octavia, it means her actions as Red Queen will haunt her. She spends a lot of the time this season dealing with her interior demons and the group has a lot of ill-feelings toward her, Avgeropoulos said. She feels isolated. Additionally, the relationship between Octavia and her brother will be interesting considering as Octavia threw Bellamy in the Pit, which is going to take a little bit of time to overcome. There’s an interesting thing that happens between them this season that’ll shock the viewers, she said. I’m really excited for everybody to see it. Added Morley,  It will take some time for them to be able to address the situation, and a lot of their own healing before they can speak about it or it’s amicable or for it to grow into a more healthy relationship. (Photo by Diyah Pera/The CW)That fractious sibling relationship may also put some pressure on Bellamy s relationship with Echo (Tasya Teles). On that front, Morley said Bellamy and Echo are still very much in love, but evaded elaborating on it to point out the show will finally spend some time filling in certain gaps in her backstory. I’m super excited about that, Teles said. It s one of the things I ve been hoping for and asking for the last couple of years. I had ruminated on her backstory and the opportunity to share that for the first time is really exciting. She suggested Echo s past was not roses and picnics, but her unique trauma may lead to something she can contribute to the group as they face the new world. At the same time, she said Echo is still learning to adapt to her new surroundings and trying out a new way of life.But when asked about Echo s relationship with Bellamy — and the fact he has to deal with Clarke in close quarters again — Teles said, rather enigmatically, She understands loyalty better than anyone else, she understands certain relationships are sacred. So there’s a lot of support within them all. She added that Echo also feels a certain indebtedness to Clarke.And when Morley was asked if there was a chance for Bellarke shippers to be pleased this year, he joked there is “as much of a chance as all those other years.”Among their other duties in exploring the new planet, the pair are tasked with looking after Monty and Harper s son, Jordan (Shannon Kook). Though an adult, there is something childlike about him.As Morley put it, Jordan is such an interesting character. He spent his whole life on a spaceship with his parents. Spending 26 years with only his parents to talk to would drive anyone a bit insane, but Kook is a great addition to the cast and Jordan is a new type of quirky character the show hasn t seen before.For his part, Kook said, It’s befuddling for the heroes to encounter this idealistic and optimistic personality who reminds them of their old friend. (Photo by Sergei Bachlakov/The CW)Unlike their childhoods on the Ark and their adulthoods-by-fire on Earth, Jordan was raised in the harmony of his parents even as he trained to join the others on their exploration of the new planet. There are some parallels between him and Octavia [who also grew up separate from the others], but the difference in that is that he wasn’t growing up in a time of tension. Unlike the fear Octavia knew, Jordan has always enjoyed peace. It means planetfall will be quite a jolt to his system. But Jordan, not unlike the original 100 when they first arrived on Earth, will approach this new world as a series of firsts. As Kook put it, Jordan notes the moment he breathes fresh air for the first time and sees a woman who isn t his mother. He also faces the challenge of working with the people he idolized growing up, challenging their jaded worldviews, and feeling an obligation to protect his new family. It s a tall order for a young lad who s never met anyone before, the actor said.Nonetheless, Morley and Teles said Bellamy, Clarke, and Echo feel a certain protectiveness for Jordan immediately. And while that sense will be reciprocated, Kook admitted Jordan has one fave among the group: Murphy. He throws your expectations,  Kook said.Added Harmon,  I was his favorite growing up, which is very valid. But be careful what you wish for when it comes to meeting your legends. The 100 returns Tuesday, April 30 at 9 p.m. on The CW. When We Were Kings (1996) 98% Gibney says:  So this was something where Leon Gast in 1974 was in Zaire while Muhammad Ali and George Foreman were there for their Rumble in the Jungle, one of the great fights in history. Gast was there  to hang out with Ali, and that s where the most riveting footage comes from is:  as Ali gathers all these kids who are rallying to his side, singing Ali bomaye. You see Ali, who had passed his prime as a boxer, but was at the height of his intellectual powers, that is just extraordinary to see now, so full of vitality, such a leader. And then in the fight itself, he wins the fight with his wits, his brain, not his brawn, though he ultimately knocks Foreman out. It s a great film, and there s something at the end that s particularly worth noting now: Ali was invited to the Harvard commencement, and gave a speech, a wonderful speech to the kids about making a difference and then somebody shouted out, Hey, Ali! Give us a poem. And Ali thinks for a second, and he says, Me. We. At this moment in time, it seems the perfect distillation of social distancing and isolation and how that can lead us to understanding and appreciating the collective. Critics Consensus: An engrossing documentary that s as much about a time and a place as it is about a fight.Stream now on DirecTV or MaxGo.  Looking for more great shows and movies to binge? 2.
bob132.app.9192(Photo by Walt Disney Studios)This month, Mary Poppins Returns has the Herculean task of recapturing the magic and music of the beloved original. Not possible, right? Well, according to many of the critics and industry folks who saw it at last week s premiere, it might just come close. Early social reactions saw the majority of critics praising the film and Emily Blunt in particular, for her turn in the iconic blue coat. Germain Lussier of i09 was typical of the praise thrown her way and the movie s way when he tweeted: Mary Poppins Returns is an exquisitely made film with delightful music, excellent performances (especially by Emily Blunt) contagious optimism. But, could the movie – like its predecessor – be an Oscar contender?There is no Tomatometer score as of yet – reviews will release soon on December 12th, and as you know, anything can happen – but reading the tea leaves, Mary Poppins Returns looks to be a perfectly timed holiday hit, and one that has shot to the top of many Oscar prognosticators lists. And not just for Blunt. Variety s awards editor Kristopher Tapley set the tone a few weeks back following a very early screening, going as far as to say,  Mary Poppins Returns will be a massive hit, which will drive the point home all the more: Audiences want a movie like this right now. Critics, even the most cynical of them (whether they admit it or not), want a movie like this right now. Surely, Oscar voters want a movie like this right now. As we enter December, with Golden Globe nominations just days away and Oscar ballots almost on their way to voters, let’s take a look at the competitive awards categories for Mary Poppins Returns and why this unlikely late-season entry could just shake things up.It s the Film We Need Right Now(Photo by Walt Disney Studios)We hate the thing we need right now hot-take framing as much as you do, but in this case, there s some truth to it. Like a high-flying kite – scratch that: a balloon – Mary Poppins Returns has brought a huge dollop of joy to a pretty dour awards-season field. Of all the major contenders – think Roma, If Beale Street Could Talk, Vice, The Favourite, or Green Book – Poppins is the most unapologetically joyful film, which might be exactly what audiences and voters are drawn to in the dying days of 2018. Despairing at the state of the world? Then perhaps you want to see Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda singing and dancing around London more than another dark examination of the nature of humankind. Just saying. Director Rob Marshall seems to have tapped into something that s hard to quantify yet wholly disarming, especially for adults. As Dame Angela Lansbury says towards the end of the film, most grownups forget what it s like to be a child. Don t think that s enough to convince voters? It s the same kind of infectious optimism that La La Land inspired in Academy voters back in 2016.Below the Line, Poppins is TopsRyan FujitaniLooking for nomination sure bets? Look straight to below-the-line categories like costumes, make-up, visual effects, and production design. But you already knew that from the trailers. Having seen the film, we would add Best Editing and the sound categories to that list. One sequence that takes place on the surface of a porcelain bowl highlights the best elements of all of the aforementioned trades: careful sound mixing and effects seamlessly integrate the characters into a delicate ceramic and animated world, while Sandy Powell s costumes for the sequence are a mix of materials and appear as a blend of soft fabrics and watercolor paints that would crumple upon touching. Powell could go up against her contemporary rival Colleen Atwood for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Black Panther costume designer Ruth E. Carter, and, in an interesting wrinkle, herself; Powell has a second bite at the Oscar apple with her equally impressive work on Yorgos Lanthimos  The Favourite.To achieve the vivid 2-D animation sequences that are a particular highlight of the porcelain bowl scene, Marshall went to painstaking lengths. These days, Disney animators work primarily in the digital format the studio s last hand-drawn animation was back in 2004, long before most of the current crop of animators joined the company. It required calling former animators out of retirement to achieve the signature mix of live action and 2-D animation, while implementing innovations for both formats. Marshall had to merge two animation mediums that were never intended to coexist; the results could earn the movie consideration in the effects categories. Shallow May No Longer Be a Lock for Best Original Song(Photo by Walt Disney Studios)Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s Shallow from A Star is Born has seemingly been a lock for the Best Original Song Oscar for months. A bona fide chart-topper that has been streamed over 10 million times since its September 27th release, it has long looked unstoppable. But last week The Place Where Lost Things Go, sung by Blunt, and Trip a Little Light Fantastic, sung by Miranda, were released, marking them as the two songs Disney seems to be backing for the category – and they may just cause an upset.As in recent years, the “hit” may not prove to be the eventual winner come ceremony time. Back when Sam Smith won for Spectre s  Writing s on the Wall, he beat The Weeknd’s “Earned It” from Fifty Shades of Grey – which people had actually, you know, heard of. Everyone remembers La La Land being favored with “City of Stars,” but do you remember that in the same year it beat out Trolls infectious four-time platinum smash Can’t Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake? Keeping with the trend, last year the quiet and sentimental “Remember Me” from Coco won over The Greatest Showman’s  This is Me, a song that is still charting as part of the film s soundtrack more than a year after the movie exited cinemas. So don’t be surprised if Blunt’s “The Place Where Lost Things Go” topples the Gaga-liath Shallow. Acting Nods and (Maybe) A Best Picture Chance (Photo by Walt Disney Studios)For acting, it s all down to Miranda and Blunt. They get the lion s share of screen time and perform the narrative heavy lifting. At the Globes, Miranda has more than a decent shot of a nomination, with the categories being split between Comedy and Drama, but it s unlikely he will prove a challenge to Christian Bale and Viggo Mortensen. Blunt fares slightly better in the Best Actress – Musical or Comedy race. It will likely be a three-way race between Blunt, Constance Wu for Crazy Rich Asians, and Olivia Colman for The Favourite, and while most think Colman is a shoo-in, Blunt has a history with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association that shouldn t be dismissed (she is a five-time nominee and one-time winner). Even Mary Poppins herself would have a hard time magicking an Oscar nomination for Miranda, but Blunt has the pedigree and delivers a performance that may squeeze her into contention before the Academy announces its nominees.For Best Picture, things will likely come down to how many nominees we get. At least five percent of first-place votes must go to a particular film in order for it to contend for Best Picture as one of the final nominees. With the race still wide open, it s not unreasonable to think the Academy could have a strong preference for more than five films; Mary Poppins Returns will stand a strong chance if the Best Picture field stretches to eight or ten nominees.

41.手游12分钟之后就算后期,所以打团别少人尤其是均势的时候,浪死了复活时间1分钟,1分钟足够对面5打4团灭你们并且一波推平你家;
众所周知选择在1月份上线的手游,基本都是盯着玩家年终奖、压岁钱等去的,所以如果你选择在1月份玩一款新手游,请首先考虑一下自己的荷包。话不多说,先介绍一下这四款手游

Josh and Benny Safdie had something of a coming-out party last year with Good Time, a kinetic thriller that showcased some of the best work of star Robert Pattinson‘s post-Twilight career. The Safdies decided to follow that up with another tense drama, this time starring frequent critical whipping boy Adam Sandler, and most critics agree the risk paid off in spades. In Uncut Gems, Sandler plays Howard, a New York City jeweler with a self-destructive gambling addiction who regularly places sporting bets with money that doesn’t belong to him. Howard comes into possession of a rare, uncut Ethiopian opal that captures the attention of NBA star Kevin Garnett, which leads to a series of ill-advised collateral swaps, basketball wagers, and mob-style shakedowns as he attempts to pay off his debts by selling the stone at auction. Critics say the Certified Fresh Uncut Gems is a relentless thrill-ride that amps up the anxiety at every turn and benefits from stellar work by its cast, especially Sandler, who had some folks pegging him for a Best Actor nod at the Oscars. He’s proven in the past that with the right material, he can pull off serious roles like nobody’s business, and this is quite possibly his best effort to date. The film is unnerving and propulsive, and it should lead to even bigger opportunities for the Safdies. [Note: This film opened in limited release on December 13, but expands into wide release this week.]
Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Cand… nah, we’re way too chicken to even try it. And if you’ve seen the trailer for director Nia DaCosta’s spiritual sequel to the early-1990s slasher classic, Candyman, you would be too. The highly anticipated film, from Jordan Peele’s production company Monkeypaw, promises a terrifying and fresh take on the legend of the hooked killer, one that digs into issues like the continual suppression of Black Americans as it delivers its genre thrills.Ahead of the movie’s release in theaters this August, Rotten Tomatoes sat down with DaCosta and star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who plays artist Anthony McCoy, who unknowingly reawakens evil in the film. In our exclusive extended conversation, the filmmaker and star open up about expanding the franchise’s mythology, the ways in which horror films can reflect (and critique) the real world that inspires them, Peele’s impact on the genre, and why they felt compelled to continue the Candyman story.Candyman is in theaters from Friday August 28, 2021. On an Apple device? Follow Rotten Tomatoes on Apple News.
Charlie's Angels (2019) 52% Elizabeth Banks did a pretty respectable job when she made her feature directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2 in 2015, so for her sophomore effort, she decided to help revive and reinvent a classic franchise with similar female bonding themes. Charlie s Angels began as a television series back in the mid- to late-1970s and found new life in a pair of cheeky, early 2000s action flicks starring Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore both revolved around a trio of female agents who specialized in investigation and espionage and were commanded by a mysterious man named Charlie. In this modern update, the angels (or would-be angel, in one case) are played by Kristen Stewart, Ella Balinska, and Naomi Scott, and they comprise just one team of many around the world who all take orders from various Bosleys their own is played by Banks herself. When one of the trio discovers the company she works for is developing a potentially dangerous technology, she unwittingly stumbles upon a conspiracy that the Angels must work to unravel. Critics say Charlie s Angels is an earnest effort from all involved, with a particularly sprightly performance from Kristen Stewart, but it s also a little disappointingly rote, as far as action fare goes, and it doesn t make the greatest case for why it was revived. That said, it s energetic, breezy, and appropriately cheeky, even if it is formulaic, and it may be just fun enough to pass the time for most.

To no one’s surprise, Frozen II led the Thanksgiving holiday with a five-day haul of 6.3 million, with .3 million of that coming over the weekend. That is the eighth-best second weekend of all time, wedged between Disney’s 2017 Beauty and the Beast (.4 million) and, well, Disney’s Incredibles 2 (.34 million). Overall, the film has grossed 7.6 million in 10 days, which is the 15th-best ever for 10 days, between Captain America: Civil War (5.96 million) and The Dark Knight Rises (7.11 million). It is the 25th film to have grossed over 0 million in its first 10 days of release. Only three of those films (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Furious 7, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) failed to reach 0 million total. Amongst the 12 other films to have million-plus second weekends, only one of them (Avengers: Age of Ultron) failed to reach 0 million total. However, only two of those movies opened in the holiday season (Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avatar). Frozen II has already amassed another 1 million worldwide for a total of 8 million as it marches to become another  billion grosser for Disney.Fresh Surprise: Knives Out Shows Original Films Can Still Murder At the Box Office It wasn t a total surprise for us at RT – we had placed it in the top 5 holiday earners in our winter box office preview – but Rian Johnson’s Knives Out surpassed all tracking service expectations by earning .7 million since opening Wednesday. The .7 million it earned over the weekend puts it amongst the top 20 Thanksgiving holiday weekends ever – and it is just the fifth film not rated “G” or “PG” to be on that list. Some 61 films have opened in November and grossed over million in their first five days; only four (Pokemon: The First Movie, Dumb and Dumber To, The Muppets, and Unbreakable) failed to reach at least 0 million total. That means Knives Out could join Hustlers, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Us as the only films not based on a previous film or property to reach that milestone in 2019.The Top 10 and Beyond: Queen and Slim Gets a Solid Start, Word-of-Mouth Boosts Beautiful Day(Photo by © Universal)It was back and forth over the holiday for third place, but James Mangold’s Ford v Ferrari won the race with .22 million over the weekend and .99 million for the five days. No film opening in November to have grossed at least million in 17 days has failed to reach 0 million. Ford v Ferrari currently stands at million, but its magic number is still going to be around 0 million globally to find its way into profit. With just over 3 million internationally, it is still less than 60% of the way there.Marielle Heller’s A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood got the word-of-mouth bump over the holiday we were expecting. It is now outpacing Roland Emmerich’s Midway, which just passed the million mark this weekend. Gothika, Starship Troopers, and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms are the only November films to have million after 10 days and not finish with at least million. Midway is looking to join that list given its third weekend (.95 million) was less than what those three films earned in their third weekend. Meanwhile, the Mr. Rogers film, which stands at just over million to date, had a better second weekend (.8 million) than any live-action film in November to have million or less by day 10 of wide release (aside from Jingle All the Way). This suggests that a final gross over million is still very possible for the million-budgeted film.The other newbie of the week was Melina Matsoukas’s Certified Fresh Queen Slim, which grossed .7 million over the weekend and .8 million over the full holiday. That is 0,000 more than what Widows had last year in its first five days before ultimately finishing with million. Last week’s cop thriller, 21 Bridges, is up to just .45 million after 10 days, which puts it in After the Sunset/Delivery Man territory. Its second weekend (.82 million) was about million less than the Vince Vaughn comedy and 21 Bridges may be up at around just - million when it leaves theaters. Finally, Todd Phillips’ Joker spent its eighth straight week in the top 10. It has passed 0 million domestic, .048 billion worldwide, and is Warner Bros. fourth-highest grossing film of all time. Joker also passed Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides to become the 35th highest-grossing film of all time.This Time Last Year: Another Possession Could Not Scare Ralph From Top Spot(Photo by © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures)It was the weekend after Thanksgiving so grosses were down a bit, but still a lot of people were going to the movies. The only major new release was The Possession of Hannah Grace, which opened in seventh place with .4 million. Ralph Breaks the Internet was again on top with .56 million, passing the 0 million mark. The Grinch moved up to second with .92 million, enough to pass the 0 million line. Creed II fell back to third with .63 million and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald had the steepest fall in the top 10 (61.3%) to .36 million. The top 10 films grossed a total of 6.19 million and averaged 61.4% on the Tomatometer; this year’s top 10 grossed an estimated 6.98 million over the weekend and averaged 67.3% with critics.On the Vine: A Balloon Adventure and an Acclaimed Romance Set to Light Up Indie Box OfficeThe weekend after Thanksgiving is usually a dead zone for new releases and indeed only one film is going wide and that is the oft-delayed animated film from STX, Playmobil: The Movie. The million production was moved from January to April to August and then into December. It has grossed just .4 million in international waters to date, and may have trouble matching that here. In limited release, try to catch The Aeronauts on the biggest screen possible as it is not often you get a chance for a hot air balloon adventure with Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne – especially one that s Certified fesh at 84% on the Tomatometer to date. Even more acclaimed is the 98%-rated Portrait of a Lady On Fire. The beloved French romance was a hit at Cannes this year, winning Best Screenplay, and it is also nominated for Best International Film at the 2020 Independent Spirit Awards.The Full Top 10: November 29-December 1Frozen II (2019) 78% – .25 million (7.57 million total)Knives Out (2019) 97% – .02 million (.7 million total)Ford v Ferrari (2019) 92% – .22 million ( million total)A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019) 95% – .8 million (.31 million total)Queen & Slim (2019) 83% – .7 million (.81 million total)21 Bridges (2019) 54% – .82 million (.46 million total)Playing With Fire (2019) 24% – .2 million (9.2 million total)Midway (2019) 42% – .96 million (.28 million total)Joker (2019) 68% – .98 million (0.6 million total)Last Christmas (2019) 46% – .9 million (.66 million total)

While not as focused on the larger universe as recent episodes, this week once again proved The Mandalorian is more than capable of telling its own tales on its own terms.So let s dive into Chapter 15: The Believer and discover why writer/director Rick Famuyiwa is overdo for his own Star Wars story.The following contains spoilers about The Mandalorian, season 2, episode 7, “Chapter 15: The Believer.” Stop here if you have not watched the episode.Last Week, Grogu Was Baby Yoda–napped(Photo by © 2020 Lucasfilm Ltd. ™. All Rights Reserved.)Arriving on Tython so Grogu can use Jedi temple ruins to contact a Jedi willing to train him, Djarin encountered Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). Fett s main concern is the recovery of the armor Djarin took from Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) and offered to protect the child in exchange for it. Sadly, Fett and Shand s help was not enough to prevent the Imperial Remnant from abducting Grogu. Djarin quickly formed a plan to save him, but it requires the assistance of former Imperial sharpshooter, Mayfeld (Bill Burr).Din Djarin and His Accomplices Use Deadly Force To Hunt Moff Gideon(Photo by © 2020 Lucasfilm Ltd. ™. All Rights Reserved.)Instead of the prison break last week s episode appeared to tease, Cara Dune (Gina Carano) uses her authority as a New Republic Marshal to secure Mayfeld s release into her custody.As part of Djarin s plan, Mayfeld needs to use his knowledge of Imperial codes and procedures to ascertain the coordinates of Moff Gideon s (Giancarlo Esposito) light cruiser. Once he hears Grogu s life is in the balance, Mayfeld agrees to assist. Needing direct access to an Imperial terminal, he suggests setting course for the secret mining operation on Morak.Once on the planet, Hess and Djarin disguise themselves as Shoretroopers to infiltrate a refinery for highly-volatile mineral rhydonium. When attempting to access an Imperial network in the mess hall with the terminal, Mayfeld backs out after noting Valin Hess (Richard Brake) among the officers. The two have history. Desperate to find Grogu, Djarin removes his helmet so the terminal can complete a facial scan. Unfortunately, all of their mucking about attracts the attention of Hess, but the Imperial officer only wants to congratulate them, as they were the only transport team to make it back to base. Things turn sour when Mayfeld darkly reminisces about the Burnin Konn engagement of Operation: Cinder, a mission which led to the deaths of roughly 10,000 troopers. When Hess dismisses the losses, Mayfeld shoots him.The resulting firefight leads to Hess and Djarin s escape, thanks to timely assists by Dune, Shand, and Fett. Djarin recovers his armor and Dune decides to let Mayfeld go after seeing him hit one of the rhydonium transports from the Slave I hatch and blowing up the entire Imperial base.Leaving Mayfeld on Morak, Djarin sends a message to Gideon declaring war.A Change of a Hardened Heart Suggests Imperial Goons Are Not All Created Equally(Photo by © 2020 Lucasfilm Ltd. ™. All Rights Reserved.)Mayfeld s reappearance here is a surprising change from his more villainous debut last season in Chapter 6, The Prisoner — also directed by Famuyiwa. It is, nevertheless, a welcome change as Mayfeld shows a hidden depth under his quips. Concern for the loss of life is not a quality the Empire or the Remnant values, and this growing concern was clearly a key reason Mayfeld walked away from the Imps after Burnin Konn.As it happens, Operation: Cinder was part of Sheev Palaptine s contingency plan to cripple the galaxy — Rebels and Imperials alike — should he ever perish. While on its face, it was meant to bring ecological devastation to world like Naboo and Burnin Konn, the high casualty counts were also part of the design. It is doubtful Hess or Mayfeld knew the real reasons for the operation, though, or the other aspects of Palpatine s plan, the retreat of certain Imperial forces to the Unknown Regions.Nevertheless, their reactions here illustrates a distinct difference in character. Hess is a true believer in the Empire s definition of order, while Mayfeld was probably a conditional Imp at best. As seen in Solo: A Star Wars Story and intimated by Luke Skywalker s desire to leave Tatooine, people joined the Imperial military because they are out of options. Typically, the training crushes a person s spirit and turns them into loyal goons like Hess, but sometimes a moral center survives.It is clearly the point of Famuyiwa s script as Mayfeld proved to be more honorable than the other characters he introduced in Chapter 6: The Prisoner. It also suggests Famuyiwa has a longer-form Star Wars story of his own to tell. His directorial debut in the galaxy, Chapter 2: The Child, was a fabulous self-contained adventure seemingly inspired by the simple question What if Boba Fett fought Jawas? Chapter 6, his debut as a writer (with Christopher Yost), continued with the seemingly one-off stories, while introducing a compelling set of miscreants, Mayfeld included. While it is possible he will stay on Morak to help the indigenous population fend off Imps and pirates — a worthy conclusion to his tale — it is also possible Famuyiwa has found a way to highlight the struggles of more common people caught between the never-ending conflicts in the galaxy.And with Star Wars expanding its television footprint to 19 series(!) in the next few years, we have to wonder if Famuyiwa will apply his craft to, say, Rangers of the New Republic. He is a great a filmmaker, and it s clear he can do great things in the Star Wars format, so we think it is time to set him loose on a series or a feature film. He is more than capable.Although, considering Dune declared Mayfeld dead while letting him go, we also have to wonder if he will have to dodge those Rangers in the upcoming series or befriend them.Questioning The Remnant(Photo by © 2020 Lucasfilm Ltd. ™. All Rights Reserved.)While we ponder Mayfeld s future in New Republic space, we also have to consider the Remnant s place in all of this.Is Another Operation: Cinder Afoot? While Palpatine s contingency plans were meant to cripple the Remnant and the New Republic in short order, both factions endured. Is the chaos Hess said would soon happen part of another contingency? The forces that will become the First Order and the Final Order are already ensconced in the Unknown Regions by this point, so sacrificing more Imps to hobble the New Republic feels on-point for the Sith Lord. Provided he s still issuing commands in his bizarre afterlife, of course.What Is The Remnant s Command Structure? Expanding on a question we ve asked before, it is still unclear if these Imperial Remnant enclaves are working in concert or independently of one another. In the Star Wars: Battlefield II campaign, directives regarding Operation: Cinder and other aspects of Palpatine s contingency are delivered to high ranking Imps via prerecorded holo-messages from the Emperor himself. The secrecy involved suggests Palpatine may have encouraged Remnant forces to splinter as part of the plan to cripple anyone not in the Unknown Regions. At the same time, it is possible Gideon united the factions into one organized Remnant. But even if that is the case, it still leaves us to wonder if Gideon is working at Palpatine s behest or for his own ambitions.How Strong Is the ISB? The Imperial Security Bureau definitely gives our heroes pause, but its strength only seems to extend to Remnant controlled zones or specific operations directed by Gideon, himself a former ISB operative. Is the ISB a credible threat? If so, why did the ISB lose track of Djarin and Grogu following the events on Nevarro last season?Why Did the Terminal Recognize Djarin s Face? From Mayfeld s explanation of the terminal system, we expected the facial scan to be another layer of the verification process. If that is true, why did it recognize Djarin s face? The simplest explanation, of course, is that the scan is just a simple logging system instead of a security function. Which may mean Gideon will use the record of the Mandalorian s face against him.Will Djarin Really Carry On Under the Helmet? Although all the Imps who saw his face are dead and Mayfeld choose to ignore what he saw, we can t help but wonder how Djarin can continue to wear the armor after being seen. On the one hand, he s seen plenty of Mandos this season who do not live by the Way of the Mandalore. On the other, he s still a religious zealot who has yet to reconcile the Way with the evidence of his own eyes. Perhaps, like Mayfeld said, Djarin will do what he must to get Grogu back and, after retrieving him, will leave the armor with Boba Fett; in fact, that feels like the right note to end the season on. We ll know soon enough, though, as next week is the season finale.The Mandalorian streams on Disney+.On an Apple device? Follow Rotten Tomatoes on Apple News.

And while Bassinger does have a background in gymnastics and would have loved to have been allowed to do more stunts, she acknowledges that it was safer to let her stunt double, Kristina Baskett, handle most of the heavy lifting. Bassinger admits that she did enjoy the days when she got to be harnessed into wires, such as a scene when she slides across the Staff in an early episode.But there were some things Bassinger purposefully avoided in an effort to make this Stargirl her own, such as opting not to watch Britt Irvin portrayal of the character on Smallville or Sarah Grey’s on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Both of those shows featured an older version of the character who was not the lead, while this iteration allows Bassinger to devote more time to developing Stargirl’s backstory.“I feel like playing younger characters is just more fun and, Courtney specifically, is like a optimistic funny character,” says Bassinger, who until now was mostly known for Nickelodeon shows like Bella and the Bulldogs and that network’s TV adaptation of School of Rock. “While a good dramatic scene is fun every once in a while, it s nice just to be more lighthearted, I feel like, on a day-to-day basis.”(Photo by DC Universe)Although Stargirl isn’t officially part of The CW’s “Arrowverse” collection of shows that include The Flash and Supergirl, fans did get a glimpse of some of these characters during the network’s elaborate Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover episodes, which aired this past winter and famously feature the heroes from other programs. Bassinger says there were talks of other crossover opportunities before the coronavirus pandemic shut down Hollywood this spring, but she doesn’t know how it will happen now – especially since her show’s chronology might not match up with the others’ (these programs rely on a multiverse theory, or the concept that infinite universes exist, and while Stargirl is part of Earth-1, not every character is).There’s also the issue with the title of her character. These shows run for years (The Flash, for example, is in its sixth season). Eventually, her character will grow up and leave high school. Does that mean her name may ever be changed to Starwoman?“I think she’ll always be Stargirl,” Bassinger says. “Like, even in the comics when she ages, she’s always Stargirl.”Stargirl premieres Monday, May 18 on DC Universe and has its broadcast premiere on The CW on Tuesday, May 19 at 8/7C. ter roommates deal with this bombshell news? Will Nandor s human slave find it in himself to revolt against those he s been serving all this time? And what other types of wrenches will series creator and executive producer Clement and company throw into the mix to keep their bloody comedy series fresh going into its new season? The creatives and cast behind FX s hit horror-comedy spoke with Rotten Tomatoes during the 2020 Television Critics Association winter tour and teased a few juicy tidbits.1. Guillermo Is Set to Kick Some Ass – No Stunt-Double Needed(Photo by © FX) I m just like, Wow, another curveball for Guillermo for this season! Guillen exclaimed, referencing his character s late-in-season-1 discovery. Last year, we placed him in a very uncomfortable scenario where it s like, he s basically a slave to his master, but also has dreams and aspirations, and finds out in the cliffhanger that he has Van Helsing in his blood. It s an intriguing position for the character, who acts as the empathetic human entry-point for many viewers into the series. Guillen admitted the change offers a huge level up for him as an actor, and for his character. My story arc in the first season was basically facial expressions. So what will life look like for Guillermo when the show returns? For one, Guillen was given a trainer and workout regimen to get in shape for what was in store. According to the actor, he lost 20 pounds of fat and gained 10 pounds of muscle, working on his upper body to prepare for the action scenes in the series. And while he remains tight-lipped about what exactly those scenes entailed, he does reveal that Guillermo will be involved in a fight sequence and is gonna jump out a window. I m glad to report that, even though I had a stunt double who went to work every day and was ready to go in full-on Guillermo costume and everything, he never went on, Guillen said. I literally did all my stunts for the season with the exception of one stunt that they wouldn t let me do for insurance purposes.

bob132.app.9192 On Tuesday, June 25, Paul and Cranston updated their social media accounts with an image of a two donkeys standing side by side in the desert. The actors supplied the same caption: Soon. Once the image hit the internet, rampant speculation followed. What did the photo mean? Are Paul and Cranston teasing their highly-anticipated return to Albuquerque, New Mexico? Further stoking the fire was Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul executive producer Peter Gould, who retweeted Aaron Paul s post, saying, Looking forward to this. While the overall consensus was that Paul would indeed star in the then-unannounced film, and the actor told Rotten Tomatoes he knew nothing of the movie when we spoke to him at the 2019 Sun Valley Film Festival.“I honestly cannot confirm or deny that that movie is even happening, he said. I’ve said this before — if Vince were to approach me and ask me to be a part of anything, I would say yes. And so if that’s Breaking Bad, then so be it. I’m where I’m at today because of him. So I owe him a lot, and we all do from the show, and feel very blessed. And it turns out the announcement was to reveal the former costars joint liquor venture, a mezcal brand aptly titled Dos Hombres. BOB ODENKIRK SPILLED THE BEANSLeave it to Saul Goodman himself to confirm the Breaking Bad movie rumors. The Better Call Saul actor told The Hollywood Reporter well before the official announcement that the highly anticipated flick has already finished filming. I don t know what people know and don t know, he said. I find it hard to believe you don t know it was shot. They did it. You know what I mean? How is that a secret? But it is. They ve done an amazing job of keeping it a secret. Just four days later, Netflix announced the Jesse Pinkman-centered sequel with a teaser trailer that finds Skinny Pete being pressed about Pinkman s whereabouts.WHEN WILL IT AIR?El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will launch globally on Friday, Oct. 11 on Netflix. It will be shown in theaters October 11-13 in 68 cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Albuquerque, before airing on AMC in early 2020.Like this?
